94 drunk driving arrests in Grant, Adams

MOSES LAKE – The holiday DUI enforcement campaign between Nov. 24-Jan. 2 netted 94 arrests in Grant and Adams Counties, according to Washington Traffic Safety Commission Program Manager Angie Ward.
Ward noted the statewide arrest number for the same period was 3,812. Officers from the Washington State Patrol and local police agencies participated in extra emphasis patrols.
Last year, for the same period and the same region, emphasis patrols came up with 41 DUI arrests.
During 2010, Ward said, drunken drivers killed 188 people, or more than 40 percent of the people who died on the state's roadways.
