| December 31, 2012 5:00 AM

MOSES LAKE – A George woman escaped injury in a Dec. 28 three-car collision near here that the Washington State Patrol said was caused by a serious driving error by the same woman.

Six people from Montana and western Washington were involved in the wreck, the State Patrol said, and two were injured. They required medical transport to Moses Lake's Samaritan Hospital.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 17 and Kittleson Road at around 3:30 p.m. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the WSP reported, but Maria R. Aguilar, 42, of George was cited for running a red light, which caused the collision.

According to the WSP, Aguilar was driving a 2000 Mercury Sable southbound on 17 when she failed to stop at a red light at Kittleson Road. Her car struck a 1994 Chevrolet pickup driven by Nathaniel A Brown, 35, of Auburn, eastbound on Kittleson, in the intersection.

Brown, who was not injured, was wearing his seatbelt, the WSP said. Aguilar was wearing hers and was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Aguilar's vehicle also struck a 2002 Chevrolet pickup driven by Niki M. Graham, 37, of Ronan, Mont., the WSP said. It was stopped westbound on Kittleson Road.

Graham was wearing her seatbelt and was unhurt. Her vehicle had reportable damage, but she was able to drive it from the scene.

Cynthia Brown, 39, of Auburn, a passenger in the 1994 Chevrolet pickup, was injured. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to Samaritan by ambulance.

Amber Valentine, 11, of Auburn was a passenger in the 1994 Chevrolet pickup. She was wearing her seatbelt and suffered a minor injury. She was taken to Samaritan by ambulance.

Bulmaro Aguilar, 53, of Seattle, a passenger in the Aguilar vehicle, was un-injured. He was wearing a seatbelt.

Michael R. Graham, 40, of Ronan, was a passenger in the 2002 Chevrolet pickup. He was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.

The WSP issued a citation for failure to wear seatbelt regarding the 1994 Chevrolet pickup.
