The reality of the school levy

I read and agree with Mike Brown's letter but let's calculate the real numbers. According to Mike's numbers the proposed combined school levy equals $3.25 per 1000 assessed value.
According to local farmers most of the irrigated farm land is assessed at $10,000 or more per acre which means a husband and wife with a 1,800 acre farm is paying $58,500 or more in school levy tax alone.
The total property tax on the 1,800 acres at the $12.03 rate equals $216,450 or more; which does not include levy & property taxes on buildings; they also pay for irrigation water, pay income tax, and like all businesses pay personal property taxes on equipment and machinery.
