Esther M. Watkins

Esther M. Watkins, 90, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 1, 1922 in San Diego, CA to Frank and Ethel (Kreiss) Succetti. She met her future husband, Robert Watkins, a young Marine from Skagit County, WA, in late 1941. They were married March 1, 1942 and Esther worked at Ryan Aircraft in San Diego while Robert served in the South Pacific.

After the war, they moved to Washington and in 1950 they established Watkins Appliance in Seattle. In 1955, they moved to the Columbia Basin to farm the family homestead. There they raised their sons and dogs.

She is survived by sons John (Janet) Watkins of Seattle, Joel (Terri) Watkins of Quincy, and William Clifton of East Wenatchee, her granddaughters Elizabeth (Michal Lensky) and Mary and her grandson Tom, and her nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her beloved Robert in August 2002, her parents, her brother and sister

Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 PM on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Royal City. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM also at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in the Royal City Cemetery.
