Here Annie Meseberg poses in front of a healthy duck strap full of birds. Monday we enjoyed a hunt with some close friends visiting from Alaksa, my Son, Levi, daughter, Annie, and Brian Baltzell, of Monroe. These birds fed us a delicious lunch of duck kabobs and we had some to take home to enjoy later as well.
The Potholes Recreation Area was voted by customers of the Cabella's store in ,Union Gap, as the most popular destinatin for outdoor recreation in the Pacific Northwest. With fishing, waterfowl, and coyote hunting most available there is something for every outdoors men and women. As of December 20, 2012 Potholes Reservoir is Ice free! The last several years we have lost the lake to ice so we feel very fortunate to have an open lake for recreating this season. The duck hunting on the Reservoir has been good, not always limit hunting but lots of birds in the area still to work with. Waterfowl season ends January 27, 2013 so be sure to get out and enjoy our area before its closing date.
