Reader asks Council to 'wise up'

To our City Council: You can't afford to put lights on the trees across the Fill for the holidays, but you can continue the ridiculous replacement of trees on our city sidewalks to the tune of $160,000 - this time; who knows how much the next time? I really doubt the intelligence of this. Use your heads and use the money for something really important and useful. Paying $7,000 per tree is beyond stupidity. What's wrong with you people?

Thousands of people are out of work and children are starving, and you are putting out all this money for trees that will have to be replaced again a few years down the road anyway. Wise up people and get into the real world.
