Randall M. Allred

Randall M. Allred, 62, a longtime Royal City resident passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and children.

He was born on October 31, 1950 in Ithaca, New York to Wells and Loriol (Cox) Allred, the third of seven children. He spent his younger years living in Utah, Peru, and Philippines prior to moving to the Columbia Basin at the age of 12. His passion for work started as a youngster, helping on his grandparent's dairy. He loved playing sports, attended Big Bend Community College, worked on a fishing boat in Alaska, and served in the Air Force.

He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Kay Fallis on April 3, 1970 in Royal Camp, WA. Randy and Nancy started their farm, orchard, and feedlot on the West end of the Royal Slope. He served as a Board Member for the Quincy Columbia Basin Irrigation District for 29 years and as a Grant County PUD Commissioner since 2003.

Randy taught his family the value of hard work, determination, and to be passionate in what you believe in. He was a strong man who loved his family and was our great "protector." Randy always made time to share a bowl of ice cream with his greatest legacy, his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Kay Allred of Royal City, WA, three children Lesa (Michael) Buster, Andy (Danyel) Allred, and Bryan (Katie) Allred all of Royal City, WA, and 10 grandchildren: Jadyn, Savanna, Wyatt, Jace, Braydon, Randi Kay, Caden, Jillian, Maddie, and Sam. He is also survived by his siblings, Calvin (Susan) Allred of Wilcox, AZ, Lowell (Colleen) Allred of Ephrata, WA, Jerry (Chriss) Allred of Royal City, WA, Janet (Ardean) Anderson of Royal City, WA, Jeff Allred of Cheney, WA, and Wiley (Maria) Allred of Royal City, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He has been reunited in heaven with his parents, Wells and Loriol Allred.

Viewing will be from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Royal Slope Chapel. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 20th at the church. Burial will follow at Royal Memorial Gardens.
