| December 18, 2012 12:00 PM

MOSES LAKE - The new computer science department at Big Bend Community College will add a full time faculty position, thanks to a grant from the Workforce Development Board.

The college received a $149,000 grant for 2013 with the possibility of renewal in 2014, said Mary Shannon, instructional designer for the Title V grant. Currently all classes in the program are being taught by part-time instructors, some from local industry.

Shannon said the Workforce Development Board liked the college's partnerships with local industries in its efforts to revive the program. "Local industry's input, feedback and support really makes a difference," Shannon said.
