Sealed bids will be received at the Civic Center Annex, 321 South Balsam, (P. O. Box 1579), Moses Lake, Washington 98837 until JANUARY 15, 2013; 2:00 P.M., for the above-named improvement. Said bids will be opened and publicly read at that time. All bids shall be received before said opening time in sealed envelopes with TREE REPLACEMENT PROJECT - 2013 marked plainly thereon.

All bids shall be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a postal money order, cashier's check, or bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the maximum total amount of the bid. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract or furnish a satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the deposit shall be forfeited to the City.

Plans and specifications shall be obtained at the Civic Center Annex at the above address for a non-refundable fee of $30.00. Only bids from bidders who have purchased plans and specifications at the Civic Center Annex will be accepted. Copies of plans and specifications are on file for review at various construction councils.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of removing thirty trees and tree planters in the downtown paver district and replacing twenty-five of them that are within existing concrete brick paver areas. The five trees that are within an existing cement concrete sidewalk area will be replaced with cement concrete sidewalk. The work includes removing and replacing 290 LF of curb and gutter, 110 SY of cement concrete sidewalk, 30 LF of concrete sidewalk edging strip, 260 SY of concrete brick pavers, 410 LF of sawcut, 80 SY of asphalt patch, and 15 catch basin inlet protection devices.

Additive 1 would include removing and replacing five additional trees and tree planters, 40 LF of curb and gutter, 40 SY of concrete brick pavers, 60 LF of sawcut, 20 SY of asphalt patch, and 1 catch basin inlet protection device.

Estimated Project Cost: $160,000 Base Bid; $190,000 with Additive 1

The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids if such action is in the best interest of the City.
