Lady Lions continue to roar, win 70-31

SOAP LAKE - Anna Yarbro scored 34 points and pulled down 26 rebounds to lead Moses Lake Christian Academy (MLCA) to a 70-31 road win over the Eagles Tuesday.

The victory improves the Lions to 2-0 in league play and 4-0 overall.

MLCA jumped out to an 18-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. The Lions were up 38-16 at the break, led 56-23 at the end of the third quarter, and outscored the Eagles 14-8 in the fourth to win with ease.

Mikaela Loudon added 13 points and Madison Yamane finished with 8 points and 6 assist. The Lions out rebounded Soap Lake 47-15 on the night.

"Soap Lake was a very aggressive, fast playing team and was really tough for stretches," coach Bryce McPartland said. "This was not our best game. We still have too many lapses, but I see lots of improvement from all our players."

The Lions get back on the hardwood Dec. 18 when the girls travel to Waterville for a nonleague game against the Shockers.
