Phoenix girls lose to Pateros

PATEROS - The Lady Phoenix found the going rough Saturday as Columbia Basin Secondary School (CBSS) dropped a game on the road to the Nannies, 52-10.

The loss drops the Phoenix record to 1-3.

The game was never in doubt as Pateros took a 17-2 lead at the end of the first quarter of play, and was up 29-2 at the break.

The second half of action didn't get any better for CBSS as the Nannies only hung 23 points on the board to the Phoenix 8.

Crystal Lloyd scored 6 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, and had one steal to lead the way for CBSS. Amber Lloyd finished with 4 and 7 rebounds.

The Lady Phoenix are back in action tonight when the team hosts a nonleague game against the Ephrata C team at 6 p.m.

Boys beat by Billygoats

The CBSS boys team was also turned back by Pateros, 49-31 Saturday.

The Phoenix hung tough in the first quarter of play, trailing 16-7 to the Billygoats, but fell behind 32-12 at the half.

CBSS outscored Pateros 19-17 in the second half of action, but was unable to make up the 20-point first half deficit and lost the contest.

Devon Hartman was high scorer for the Phoenix with 9 points. Niklaus Lennartz finished with 8, Chris Gonzalez and Austin Cochran knocked down 6 each, and Xavier Garcia finished with 2 points. 

CBSS is back on the hardwood tonight when the Phoenix host the Ephrata Tigers C team at 7:30 p.m.
