Beverly J. Warren

Beverly J. Warren, 80, longtime resident of Orcutt, CA, formerly of Moses Lake, WA, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Nov. 10, 2012 after her courageous battle with cancer

Bev was born June 7, 1932 in Puyallup, WA to Raymond and Jeannette Kinnear. When she was young, her family moved to Beverly, WA where her father opened the railroad depot. During that time, Bev went to Moses Lake every Saturday for her radio show called "Beverly from Beverly" in which she sang while her mom played the piano. Her hometown did not have a high school so at the age of 14 she left home to go to high school in Portland, OR. While living in Portland, she won a singing contest at the Orpheum Theatre, beating out the famous Johnny Ray (Cry). When she was 16 she moved to Ellensburg, WA, and continued going to high school. Here she met John Munson, whom she married in 1952 and later moved to Moses Lake in 1955. Together they had 3 children, Tamara, Michael and Anthony. While raising her family Bev worked decorating the windows for JC Penney's and Grants. She also worked for the Moses Lake School District as a teacher's aide.

She married LeRoy Warren in 1983 and moved to Orcutt, CA, where she enjoyed her days working as a city hostess until she retired. Four years after they were married, LeRoy suffered a severe stroke. She spent the next 23 years taking loving care of him and until he passed away in 2011.

Bev enjoyed dancing and scouring antique shops for "treasures" which she proudly displayed in her home. She was the type of person that everyone loved; she made friends everywhere she went. Bev had a twinkle in her eye that will never be forgotten. Her grandkids and great-grandkids will remember her as goofy and playful Grandma Bev, never a dull moment when grandma came to visit!

Bev is survived by her children, Tami (Brian) Wilson of Moses Lake, WA, Mike (Chris) Munson of Kennewick, WA and Tony (Carol) Munson of Santa Maria, CA. She had 4 grandchildren, Courtney (Fred) Balderas, Brady (Katie) Wilson, Derek (Crystal) Munson and Savannah Munson. And her 4 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Sydney, Kenadee and Jordan. She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Warren. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made to Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
