BBCC scholarship donors, winners meet for dinner

MOSES LAKE - Scholarship recipients at Big Bend Community College got a chance to thank scholarship donors at the annual Star Night dinner.
"The scholarship donors enjoy meeting the students, and pass their values on to them. One of those values is to give back when you can," said LeAnne Parton, BBCC Foundation executive director.
The Star Night dinner is sponsored by the foundation, and is a night to celebrate student achievement and donor generosity. It's held in the fall, when students are in school.
"The students learn there are real people behind scholarship support," Parton said.
The BBCC Foundation awarded $142,357 in scholarships for the 2012-13 school year. Another $10,000 is available to help students cope with financial emergencies and stay in school.
