Sue O. Eckelbarger

Sue O. Eckelbarger, 88, longtime Moses Lake resident died in her home, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in Moses Lake. Sue was born February 18, 1924 in Tillman County, Oklahoma to Henry Thomas and Minerva Jane (Sartain) McCauley.

Sue worked as a waitress at Curtis CafŽ in Frederick, Oklahoma where she met the love of her life, Howard Eckelbarger Jr., they were married April 7, 1951, they were both 25 years old. Sue and her family moved to Texas, California and in 1969 to Moses Lake, WA where she worked locally for many years at the Turf CafŽ and Sambo's until it closed in 1981. Sue enjoyed sewing, crocheting and loved to bake.

Sue's family would like to extend a very special thank you to her recent caregivers; your care is very much appreciated.

Sue is survived by her children Jackie and Roger Hastings, of Moses Lake, WA, Marsha and Roy Wade of Yuba City, CA and Howard and Cheryl Eckelbarger of Moses Lake, WA; along with 15 dear grandchildren, 25 beloved great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a few close friends.

She was preceded in death by infant daughter Nancy Jo, daughter Greta Sue, her parents and her husband Howard on April 13, 1976.

Viewing for friends and family will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with funeral services to begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012 in New Beginnings Christian Center, 318 W. Northshore Dr., Moses Lake, WA. Pastor Skip Bennett will be officiating. Burial and concluding services will immediately follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Moses Lake.
