Surrounded by family Kathryn "Kathy" L. Kimble, longtime Warden resident passed from death into life at home on Friday, November 30, 2012. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Warden. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8, at the Warden First Baptist Church at 11:00 am. Kathy was born to Carl and Jane Torpey on February 5, 1936 in Wallace, Idaho. The family moved to Moscow, ID when she was 9 years old. She attended schools in Moscow, graduating from Moscow High in 1955. Kathy then attended the University of Idaho, where she was active in Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

After college she moved to Santa Monica, CA where she worked at Locheed Martin, an aircraft factory for the US Air Force. In 1958Kathy married the love of her life, Jim Kimble, on July 4. The newlyweds made their home in Warden where they lovingly raised 3 daughters and were blessed with a full and happy life on the Kimble family farm.

Kathy was a devoted wife supporting her husband and gladly helping Jim with his farming endeavors. Through the years she spent countless hours changing siphon tubes and driving tractors and trucks (Hershey chocolate bars, Fritos corn chips, ding dongs & twinkies always within reach and an incentive for her girls to ride with her). A woman of many interests, Kathy enjoyed working in her yard, family camping trips, Easter picnics, showing and riding horses, snow skiing, knitting, quilting, following the Gonzaga bulldogs, shopping and playing solitaire at the kitchen table. Taking her camper to the annual county fair was a tradition with Kathy. She gladly accompanied any children and grandchildren in 4-H and FFA. She enjoyed winters with Jim in Arizona and most of all she loved ALL things family. From children to great-grandchildren Kathy seldom missed a sporting event proudly cheering from the sidelines. She had a special gift for making holidays, birthdays and any family gathering special. Kathy is remembered for pouring her life into the ones she loved and they are left with many treasured memories.

Most of all Kathy was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her commitment to Him defined her life. Kathy taught her family by word and example how to have a personal relationship with Christ. She was an active member of the Warden First Baptist Church. She served as church secretary and a Sunday School teacher. She was involved in the church choir, Women's Ministry and the Children's Bus Ministry. Kathy was a true disciple of Christ; living an honest, kind, generous and others-centered life.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jim Kimble; 3 Daughters, Cari (Paul) Yamane of Warden, Debbie (Tony) Hoilman of Starbuck, WA and Angela Loera of Scottsdale, AZ.; eleven grandchildren, Ryan Yamane, Jamie McCloy, Jacob Yamane, Samantha Brown, Travis Matzen, Stephanie and Matthew Hoilman, Sabree, Adrian, Isaac and Marcus Loera ; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, an infant daughter, her sister Gail Bolingbroke, and son in law Darrell Matzen.
