| December 6, 2012 5:00 AM

MATTAWA - In an effort to assure that all children in the Mattawa community receive a gift for Christmas, Wahluke High School's 21st Century Program and Key Club have partnered to gather toys.

The two organizations are conducting a toy collection drive to benefit the needy families in the community. There will be collection barrels located at Tiddaly Diddaly's, the Wahluke School District administration office, the Wahluke High School office and the Junior High administration office.

"We are asking for new or gently used stuffed animals, new toys and toys for both boys and girls," 21st Century's Jay Scott said. "We will also be taking cash donations at the high school if you would like for the 21st Century Program to purchase the toys for you."

"I hope and encourage everyone to join the Key Club to assure every child in our community has a happy holiday season and is provided the opportunity to receive a gift on Christmas morning," Scott added.
