Stolen Herald truck found on railroad tracks

| December 5, 2012 5:00 AM

MOSES LAKE - A general purpose truck usually parked in the lot at the Columbia Basin Herald disappeared over the weekend and reappeared Monday morning on the railroad tracks near Milwaukee Avenue.

Moses Lake police officers contacted the Herald office about 8 a.m. to say the truck had been found on the railroad tracks and needed to be moved. No one had noticed the truck missing prior to the call.

The truck was out of gas. Tire tracks at the scene indicated the thieves drove across a bridge over Moses Lake before coming to a stop about a mile from Milwaukee Avenue. The truck was towed back to the Herald office.

Anyone who has information on the theft is asked to contact Herald Publisher Harlan Beagley, 509-765-4561.
