Winners of raffle benefit for deputies announced

MOSES LAKE - Winners were announced last week in The Grant County Sheriff's Office and Grant County Deputy Sheriff's Association raffle to benefit the families of two Spokane County deputies injured on June 19 in the line of duty.

Spokane deputies Matt Spink and Mike Northway pulled most of the winning raffle tickets at the drawing held at the Grant County Fairgrounds. Also present at the drawing was Deputy Darrik Gregg, the Grant County Deputy Sheriff's Association's first vice president who organized the raffle for the injured deputies.

"I am extremely proud of Deputy Gregg for initiating such a generous campaign to assist the wounded deputies and their families," said Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones. "I was also much honored that both Deputy Spink and Deputy Northway made the trip from Spokane for the drawing." said Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.

Working within the guidelines of the gambling commission, $5,000 was raised. It will be split between the Spink and Northway families.

John McMillan, gift basket.

Sheriff Jones and Deputy Gregg will be delivering the funds to the Spink and Northway families later this week.
