George Lamar Salisbury

George Lamar Salisbury, 83, entered into rest August 21, 2012 in Othello Washington.

George was born February 22, 1929 in Logan, Utah to Leroy and Gwennie (Blanchard) Salisbury. He attended and graduated from North Cache High School in Richmond, UT.  During high school he was an outstanding athlete in both track and football. Joining the United States Army he served in Germany during the Korean War.  While in Germany he was on the United States Army Olympic track team winning many awards. George also worked several years for the Union Pacific Railroad as a fireman.   He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved playing the guitar and singing western music.

George is survived by his wife Marjorie, daughters, Debbie (Rusty) Taylor, Cedar City, UT, Janet (Brett) Bergeson, Moses Lake, Lanette (Don) Saetre, McKinney, TX, and Carol (Gary) Hoskins, Eltopia; brother, Darwin Salisbury, sisters, Mildred Jones and Julia Rigby and 12 grandchildren.

All services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 7th Avenue Chapel, Othello, WA   a viewing and visit will be held Thursday, August 30, 2012, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Friday August 31, 2012 a viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00.

Vault Interment will be at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens, Othello.  Military Honors will conclude the service.
