EAST WENATCHEE - Two Moses Lake residents were injured and three left unscathed Saturday afternoon when a motorcycle struck their vehicle.

Mareo L. Apigo, 36, of Moses Lake, was driving west on state Route 28 three miles east of East Wenatchee around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Four motorcyclists were traveling east at the same time when a vehicle in front of them attempted to turn onto a private driveway.

According to Washington State Patrol records, the four motorcyclists lost control of their vehicles and laid their bikes down to avoid striking the turning vehicle.

Apigo's 2002 Chrysler Towncar station wagon was struck by a 2009 Harley Davidson FXDF driven by Bobble L. Byrd, 36, of Kennewick.

Apigo was not injured, but passengers Alea D. Apigo, 33, of Moses Lake, and a minor male passenger were reported injured.

Neither were transported to area hospitals.

Two other minors were passengers in Apigo's vehicle. Neither reported any injuries.

Byrd and his passenger Karen Byrd, 42, of also Kennewick, were both reported injured and transferred to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.

Five other motorcyclists from the Spokane and Tri-Cities areas were also transferred to Central Washington Hospital for injuries. Three were drivers and two were passengers.

All parties involved were either wearing seat belts or helmets, the patrol said. The cause is still under investigation.
