Man charged in Moses Lake drive-by
EPHRATA - A man is facing charges for allegedly taking part in a drive-by shooting in Moses Lake.
Prosecutors charged Raymond Saldana, 32, of Auburn, with drive-by shooting and unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree.
Grant County Superior Court Judge John Antosz set bail at $3,000 based on the unlawful possession of a firearm charge.
Witnesses reported seeing a man wearing a white T-shirt and a baseball cap, driving a dirty maroon Taurus firing a gun from the car near the corner of Locust Lane and Peninsula Drive, according to a Moses Lake police report.
Police located a car matching the description on Schnierla Avenue. The officer followed the car, stopping it at Third Avenue, according to the police report. When police questioned the three occupants, they found they had been at a Willow Street residence.
Police allegedly discovered a .25 caliber pistol in one of the bedrooms. The bedroom's owner reported he was hiding the weapon for someone else, according to the police report. The bullets in the gun allegedly matched shell casings found at the scene.
Saldana allegedly denied shooting the gun, telling police another person was the shooter and he let the man out of the car. Saldana and the other occupants of the car allegedly referred to the shooter by a nickname, saying they didn't know his real name.
