Drive-by shooting, cocaine lead to arrests

MOSES LAKE - A Thursday drive-by shooting in Moses Lake led to the arrest of three men later that evening.

According to information The Herald received Monday, Raymond Saldana, 32, of Auburn, Adrian Surface, 22, and Jose Hernandez, 21, both of Moses Lake, were taken into custody Thursday night.

Saldana was arrested for the shooting, while Surface and Hernandez were apprehended for possessing cocaine.

Saldana allegedly fired four to five shots around 6:30 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of South Locust Lane and West Peninsula Drive.

Several residents in the area reported the incident to Moses Lake Police.

Capt. Dave Sands with the department said no one was injured, nor was any property reported damaged. Shell casings were also recovered from the scene.

It's unclear if the shootings were gang-related, or if the suspect was shooting at anyone in particular, he said.

After officers later located the suspect vehicle and witnesses identified Saldana as the shooter, police obtained a search warrant for a residence at the 2100 block of West Willow Street.

After executing the search, police discovered Surface and Hernandez at the location. They were taken in for the narcotics offenses.

All three subjects were booked into Grant County Jail.
