MOSES LAKE — An unidentified man was hospitalized this morning after he was shot by a Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy responding to a domestic violence complaint.

Sheriff’s deputies were summoned to the house in the 9300 block of Viewcrest Drive at about 3:30 a.m., said Kyle Foreman, public information officer for the sheriff’s office.

When deputies arrived they encountered the man, who was shot during the incident. He was taken to Samaritan Healthcare Center in Moses Lake, but his condition was not available as of 9 a.m. His name was not released by officials.

The officer, who has not been identified yet, was not injured. Foreman said there was no report of other injuries at the house.

The shooting is under investigation by the Columbia Basin Investigative Team, which consists of personnel from law enforcement agencies throughout the region, Foreman said.
