MOSES LAKE - It's hard to go anywhere fast at the Grant County Fairgrounds if you've got a shiny tiara perched on your head and a white sash proclaiming your royal status.

Just ask 22-year-old Analiesse Isherwood, this year's Miss Moses Lake. Every few minutes someone new would shout out a greeting or run up to the titleholder to ask for a picture.

"Really my role at the fair is to encourage," she said. "To encourage and support the kids showing animals as well as the families who came out to enjoy the outdoors."

Miss Moses Lake is Isherwood's first title. Originally from Moses Lake, Isherwood said she has beenpursuing her medical degree at the University of Washington in Seattle, which has made her truly appreciate her hometown community.

"Moses Lake has been and always will be my hometown," said Isherwood. "These are my people and I come back to help out in the community."

Isherwood plans on becoming a family medicine practitioner when she completes her graduate degree next year. She completed an internship in Ellensburg prior to coming back to Moses Lake for the remainder of the summer.

Being a strong role model for the youth of Moses Lake is the best part of the job, said Isherwood.

"I love encouraging the kids," she said as she turned to a waiting group of children.
