ROYAL CITY - Wayne and LaReva Brown, residents of the Royal Slope, enjoyed a celebration of their 50 years of marriage with their family the last weekend of July in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.

The family celebration, at a lake cabin, was hosted by the Brown children: Glenda Brown Reilly, of Connecticut, Ronda Brown Hirz, of Moses Lake, Reid Brown, of Spokane and Rick Brown, of Royal Slope.

Wayne is a retired educator, who taught third grade his entire career at the Red Rock Elementary School. LaReva is a homemaker. They own a cherry orchard of about 500 trees.

The Browns were married on Aug. 2, 1962 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They moved to the Royal Slope as newlyweds that same year.
