National Day of Prayer for Our Country

| August 17, 2012 6:00 AM

It is time for people to think about what it means to have the original US Constitution and first twelve amendments as the blueprint of our government; to think what it means to have a person of strong moral values who understands that the Oath of Office is a commitment to our Creator, and that we shall answer to our Creator for our actions in this life; and to think about what the future shall be for our children and grandchildren.

President John Adams is quoted as saying, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." Our currency has the words, "In God We Trust." It is time for everyone to think whether we have a government filled with public servants, or dictators. If the majority of those in government lack morality, how can our country thrive in an atmosphere of distrust?

I think that having many people speak out for a national day of prayer, study, and reflection on the values that we desire for our country to be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012 would be most appropriate. Perhaps candle light walks on that evening through our neighborhoods asking people to come together and think about the peace and harmony we all seek would be appropriate.

We humbly ask that God bless this Country that his Hand helped create, for the benefit of our children, grandchildren, and other nations who may follow the blueprint for freedom.
