Ready for a rip-roarin' time at the Grant Co. Fair

MOSES LAKE - Once again, we come to the time of year where Grant County is put on display.
The Grant County fair starts Tuesday and runs through Saturday.
On Tuesday only, fair admission is $1 with the donation of a non-perishable food item.
"It's the county's showpiece and the second-happiest place on Earth," Grant County Commissioner Richard Stevens said.
New exhibits, a new stage and world-class entertainment are all on deck to give fairgoers near and far a first-class experience.
"It's quite a challenging job," first-year Fairgrounds Manager Jerry Gingrich said. "Everyday is something new."
Gingrich, retired from the Army National Guard, oversaw the completion of Fisher Stage, named for Carolyn and Dale Fisher.
Country superstar John Michael Montgomery is scheduled to appear on the stage, as well as several other entertainment acts.
"We're trying to bring the fair up to date, honor the fairgrounds and history, and grow into the future," Gingrich said.
Most gates open at 10 a.m. daily.
The Red Gate, however, opens at 8 a.m. for fairgoers wanting to view livestock.
Daily admission prices range from $18 to free:
- Family (two adults, three children up to age 17) is $18.
- Adult admission (18 years and older) is $7.
- Student admission (13-17) is $5.
- Senior admission (ages 62 and over) is $5, except for Senior Day Wednesday.
Senior prices for Wednesday is $3.
- Children admission (8-12) is $2.
- Children 7 and younger are admitted free.
Weekly passes are available until 8 p.m. tonight, again with different prices:
- Adult admission (18 years and older) is $18.
- Youth exhibitioner admission is $2.
- Student admission (13-17) is $5.
- Senior admission (62 and over) is also $5.
- Volunteer and adult exhibitors is $12.
- Superintendent and 4-H/FFA leader admission is $6.
- Children admission (8-12) is $4.
- Children 7 and younger are admitted free.
Davis Shows Carnival prices run from single tickets to all-pass armbands.
Daily armbands are priced at $27, while 24-ticket books are available for $22.
Individual tickets run $1.25 each.
Parking comes with good news and bad news: inside parking passes are sold out, but outside parking is free.
Moses Lake Roundup Rodeo tickets are $15 for those 10 and older, and $5 for children 9 and younger.
