David John Tusberg

| August 14, 2012 6:00 AM

David John Tusberg, 69, of Moses Lake, passed away Aug. 8, 2012, surrounded by family at Lake Ridge Solana Care Center in Moses Lake. He was raised Lutheran and had a deep and private relationship with God.

David was born Nov. 17, 1942, in Wilmar, Minn., the son of Leonard and Henrietta Tusberg. His family moved to Lewiston, Idaho, when he was young, and he graduated from Lewiston High School.

David was a successful businessman, running his own agricultural products and consulting company for years. He studied animal nutrition at the University of Idaho, earning a master's degree.

David would never say so, but he had the confidence, expertise and talents to accomplish whatever he wanted to achieve, and he was always willing to help others do the same. He loved a challenge, seeing each one as an opportunity to learn, which he never stopped doing.

He loved to share life's experiences with those he loved, and never took a moment in life for granted. Those close to him knew his unlimited generosity. Along with his family and friends, David loved all animals, especially his beloved dogs and horses.

He loved to hit the road. His love for travel took him many places, but his favorite always was Hawaii, the place he took his family at every opportunity. He enjoyed seeing new places and meeting and learning about the people along the way. David's favorite Northwest "Hideout" was a place he and his family called the "Tree House," a cabin on a hill in Bayview, Idaho, overlooking Lake Pend Oreille.

He is survived by his wife Carol; son Taylor Truett, and his wife, Christiane, of Snohomish, Wash.; and daughter Trisha Truett, and her husband, David Cole, of Spokane Valley, Wash. He also is survived by older brother Gary Tusberg, his wife Kathleen, and their children, Kate and Cody, of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; and younger brother Kris Tusberg, of Spokane; along with many friends.

A private, family gathering celebrating his life will take place at a later date.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.kayserschapel.com. Arrangements in care of Kayser's Chapel.
