Republican candidate signs targeted

| August 10, 2012 6:00 AM

Unfortunately, someone is taking, damaging and/or knocking down Republican candidate signs. There are several of us that have been maintaining these signs. Also, at another location all signs were knocked down. I put them all back even the democrat signs. I want to play fair and expect the same courtesy. These signs are expensive to candidates and those supporting them. There is a law regarding removing or defacing lawfully placed political advertising, including yard signs or billboards, without authorization. Defacing or removing each item is a separate violation. (Rev. Code Wash. 29A.84.040) This crime is punishable up to 90 days in prison, up to $1,000 fine, or both. Let's all play fair during these upcoming political races.
