Weekend brings rock-throwing spree

MOSES LAKE - A rash of rocks smashing windows occurred during the weekend.
At least three events were reported, with damage topping $2,000 at one location, according to information provided by the Moses Lake Police Department.
"There's no way of knowing if they're related at this point," Moses Lake Police Captain Dave Ruffin said on Monday.
The Seventh-Day Adventist Crestview Christian School, at 1601 W. Valley Road, sustained the most damage, with rocks being thrown through several windows.
Representatives from the school were not available for comment Monday.
According to police reports, an unknown number of subjects threw rocks through the school's windows, as well as several in the church's across the parking lot.
And while an officer's report is forthcoming, Ruffin said that cases with unknown suspects have a 30-day limit to file such a report.
The smashings come hot on the heels of two other similar reports.
The passenger-side front window of a parked vehicle was also shattered with a rock at the 500 block of East Jones Avenue.
The damage was reported at 11 p.m., and no entry of the vehicle was reported.
Across town, at the 200 block of North Crestview Drive, a mile away from the school and church, a vehicle had its windshield busted by a rock.
At this time the police have no suspects, but are looking for information.
