Javier Puente

On July 25, 2012 Javier Puente passed away surrounded by his family at the age of 63. Javier was born in Mercedes, Texas on December 8,1948 to Rita and Manuel Puente who eventually settled in Quincy Washington. Javier graduated from Quincy High School then went off to college where he then received his bachelor's degree. In the Mid 60's Javier enjoyed playing the drums in a band he formed with a group of his friends called the renegades where they played numerous events in the surrounding areas of which they lived. He also was very active in softball where he was well known for being a very good competitor and great teammate he played for more than twenty-five years and was awarded MVP numerous of times. Javier met the love of his life Corina in 1978 then they married June 4, 1980 and had two children Jaime and Teena. Javier and Corina lived in Moses Lake where they raised their family. Javier worked as a fabricator and welder for most of his life and to the people who knew him he was known to be one of the best around. When Javier was not at work one could find him fishing with his wife Corina and grandson Benjamin on blue lake or with his brother Ruben. He would also go on fishing trips to the Kalama River with his friends Rick and Debra Graser of Moses Lake. Javier always had projects going on that kept him busy around his house he loved to spend time outdoors. He made his house beautiful for his family. Javier is survived by his wife Corina Puente and three children Jessica, Jaime, and Teena all out of Moses Lake, including his step son Ramiro Benavidez. His three brothers; Jesse and Cynthia Puente of Yuma, Arizona. Ismael and Treasa Puente of Sunnyside, and Ruben and Isabelle Puente of Quincy; he is also survived by his four grandchildren Benjamin Balderas jr., Kayden Puente, Champagne Garza, Radel Llamas jr. and three step grandchildren Mya, Miranda, and Maria Benavidez. Three great grandchildren Gilber, Aidan and Adaruiz. He is preceded in death by his mother Rita and father Manual Puente. Javier was a quiet, honest, hardworking and humble person, who loved all of his family and friends very much. He is surely one of a kind and will be forever missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

Holy Rosary will be prayed Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial immediately to follow at 10:30 in Moses Lake at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
