Fresh News From MarDon: Bass tournament over

MARDON RESORT - The 2012 Potholes Open Bass Tournament was fished by 121 teams of two. The Potholes Bass Club did an excellent job of running this event for the 33rd year. Many gracious sponsors donated items to enhance this wonderful event.  

The 2012 winners were the father son team from Eugene, Ore. Congratulations to Dennis and Daniel Boyd, who won with a total weight of 41.18 pounds.  

For the two-day tournament these bass fisherman caught and released 1,039.67 pounds. The big fish on Saturday was caught by the team of Farmer and Albers and weighed 6.36 pounds and Sunday's big fish was caught by the team of Potter and Young and their fish weighed 6.53 pounds. Second place for the tournament was taken by Darrin Green and Kevin Recchia with a total weight of 34.88 pounds and third place was taken by Kelly Ross and Levi Meseberg with a weight of 32.88 pounds.  

Walleye activity is improving in the Lind Coulee arm of Potholes Reservoir and in the Crab Creek Channel.
