MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake police are investigating a shooting involving a 19-year-old Moses Lake male who was dropped off at the hospital over the weekend.

The victim was brought to Samaritan Hospital by friends with a gunshot wound to the torso Saturday at about 8:30 p.m.

There are no suspects at this time, and police do not know how the shooting happened, but believe it may have occurred near Peninsula and Locust streets, according to Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Ruffin.

"The victim said that he was walking and heard a loud noise and realized he was shot," Ruffin stated Monday.

The wound does not appear to be life threatening although the victim is still in the hospital after suffering from a collapsed lung, Ruffin stated.

Ruffin added at this time the shooting does not appear to be gang related. The investigation is still underway.
