Man dies of suspected overdose

| April 18, 2012 6:00 AM

MOSES LAKE – Grant County detectives are investigating the death of a man on Saturday, April 7, from a suspected drug overdose.

At around 9 a.m. on April 7, a woman called 9-1-1 requesting help at a home in the 10800 block of County Road 6 SE. The caller refused to give any details and then hung up, authorities said.

Grant County Sheriff’s deputies, Fire District No. 5 emergency medical technicians, and American Medical Response paramedics arrived and found a 38-year-old man inside the home unconscious and not breathing.

The man died on the scene after attempts to revive him were unsuccessful, authorities said. The remains were turned over to the Grant County Coroner for a determination cause and manner of death, as well as confirmation of the man’s identity.

Deputies said they saw evidence in the home suggesting the man died of a drug overdose. They recovered drug paraphernalia and firearms during a subsequent search warrant search.

Anyone with possible information is asked to call Detective Kim Cook at the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, 509-754-2011 ext. 468, or send information to [email protected]. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
