| April 15, 2012 6:00 AM

QUINCY - Grant County Superior Court issued a warrant on April 9 for the arrest of Gerardo Miguel Valenzuela Navarro on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Valenzuela Navarro, 19, is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Ramiro “Junior” Muñóz. Jr. of Quincy on Sept. 23, 2011.

Quincy Police Chief Richard Ackerman is pleased with the warrant being issued but is concerned about interference from persons close to Valenzuela Navarro.

“Anyone who helps Valenzuela avoid being captured will be charged to the fullest extent of the law,” he said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Valenzuela Navarro is urged to contact Detective Mancini at 509-787-4718 ext. 505.

Tipsters can also leave an anonymous message on the Quincy Police Department Tip Line at 509-787-TIPS (8477) or email information to [email protected].
