Delbert Tebow
Loved by some, respected by more, and missed by all..... Delbert Tebow passed away April 8, 2012 at his home. He was born in Lamont, Oklahoma July 17, 1926, the third son of Donald and Katherine. His mother died when he was three and was raised by his step mom, though he always thought of her as "mom". Delbert grew up on the family farm in Lamont and graduated from high school there. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the army air corps where he served as a mechanic on B17 aircraft until his honorable discharge in 1945. He worked on the custom harvest up through the Midwest eventually settling in western Kansas where he worked on a registered Herford ranch. It was in Ulysses that he met his sweetheart, Louzena Wingerd. They were married in 1951 and celebrated their first anniversary with the birth of their first son, Delbert Eugene. Their second son, Robert, was born in November of 1953 but passed away the following March. November of 1954 brought the arrival of twin boys, Ronnie and Lonnie. In 1958 Delbert and Louzena packed up their young family and moved to Washington state. Two years later in 1960 they were blessed with a daughter, Susan.
Delbert never lived outside Grant county. Whether it be Grant county Oklahoma, Grant county Kansas, or Grant county Washington. He was a farmer his whole life and considered his profession as one of the highest calls could be put on a person. The legacy he leaves with his passing is strong and powerful and will undoubtedly endure through generations to come.
