ROYAL CITY - If you're interested in gardening and saving on foods costs during summer and fall, there's a place for you in Royal City's Community Garden.

"You may just want to enjoy the pleasure of gardening," garden organizer Sharon Chesterman said.

For only $20, you may rent a 12-foot-by-12-foot lot for the entire growing season. And water is delivered on a timed, drip system, and gardeners can make adjustments as needed.

The next meeting for prospective gardeners will be Monday, April 9, at 3:30 p.m. at Royal High School's greenhouse. Everyone is welcome.

Strengthening the Heart of Our Community (SHOC) is also looking for volunteers to help with the garden.

If you want to volunteer or reserve a lot in the garden, please call Chesterman at 346-9482.
