ROYAL CITY - Enrollment throughout the Royal School District is up, as of the official counting day, Sept. 7.

"We've had an increase at all levels, but the biggest has been at the elementary school," Superintendent Rose Search said.

According to Search, there were 1,540.446 (full time equivalent) students in the district on Sept. 7. The first count last year was 1,482.50. The daily average for 2010 was 1,472.56.

Based on last year's data, Search said the district set budgets this year for 1,468 students. Adjustments will have to be made. State support is based on actual numbers and not projections.
