Free collection for hazardous waste

EPHRATA - Grant County residents will be able to dispose of household hazardous waste on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Ephrata Splashzone parking lot.

That lot is located at 780 A St. SE. The collection will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hazardous products are fairly easy to determine. The labels contain words such as warning, danger, caustic, flammable and poison.

There are some items that will not be accepted. For questions, you may call Grant County Solid Waste at 754-6082.

Products should be brought in original labeled containers if possible. They should be packed in the transporting vehicle in such a way as to avoid spillage.
