Small business hazardous waste collection scheduled

EPHRATA - Businesses and agencies that produce small amounts of hazardous waste will have the opportunity to rid themselves of the waste on Sept. 23.

The collection site will be the Ephrata Splashzone parking lot. There will be a fee, but participants often discover a reduced cost, according to Joan Melvin of the Grant County Solid Waste Program.

To participate a business or agency must generate less than 220 pounds of hazardous waste per month and accumulate less than 2,200 before disposing of it.
