Ditch rider to be feted

ROYAL CITY - Long-time Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District ditch rider Larry Wheeler will be honored with a barbecue/potluck on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Wheeler is retiring after 33 years of service.

The retirement celebration will be held at the Blythe Watermaster Headquarters on Adams Road, North of Highway 26. It will go from 11:30 a.m to 1 p.m.

Guests are asked to bring a salad or side dish to share. Hamburgers and sausage dogs will be provided.
