Ephrata beats Quincy, hosts first round of

QUINCY - Ephrata too a short jaunt to Quincy Tuesday evening looking to solidify third place in the CWAC standings and improve its seeding in the upcoming district tournament. When it was all said and done, the Tigers did just that, taking the match in three hard-fought sets (25-2, 25-12, 25-19).

Kendra De Hoog was on the top of her game once again for Ephrata, leading the way with 14 kills, three aces and three blocks. Heidi Buchert added seven kills and one ace, Stephanie Wulf spiked five kills, Katie Allen contributed two aces, Sarah Pheasant totaled three kills and 28 assists, and Tess Ratigan finished with seven digs and one ace for the Tigers.

The win improves Ephrata's record to 6-3 in league play. The first round of the district tournament gets underway tonight as the Tigers host the Ellensburg Bulldogs in a loser out match at 7 p.m.
