Flu shots encouraged by Health district

| October 26, 2011 6:00 AM

MOSES LAKE - The Grant County Health District is encouraging flu shots for nearly everyone as winter approaches, according to Public Information Officer Teresa Fuller.

According to Fuller, the Centers for Disease Control recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone six months and older. It is the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses, she said.

"Flu is a serious disease," Fuller said. "Anyone can get the flu. Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it." If you don't have a flu shot provider, Fuller said, you can visit www.google.org/flushot to look for a doctor or a pharmacist.
