Royal City police shoot, kill suspect

ROYAL CITY - A Royal City police officer shot and killed a suspect Monday evening.
The suspect died at the scene on Hemlock Street in Royal City, according to Kyle Foreman, Grant County Emergency Services spokesperson.
The officer was not harmed.
By 5:30 p.m., Grant County Sheriff's Office detectives and the Columbia Basin Investigative Team arrived on the scene to begin investigating the shooting, according to Foreman.
Grant County Fire District 10 was requested to provide support and lighting at the scene.
No further information was revealed to the Columbia Basin Herald.
Investigators indicated they will not be providing any information about the shooting to the public for at least 48 hours, according to Foreman.
