Lady Chiefs soccer beats Walla Walla 2-0

MOSES LAKE - Sophomore Caylah Lunning and senior Kimmi Bakker scored a goal each as Moses Lake shut out Walla Walla 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Lions Field.

Lunning's goal, off and an assist by Hunter Mauseth, came at the 25th minute of play to give the Chiefs a 1-0, which held up through intermission. Bakkers goal came off a perfectly executed header with 17 minutes left in the match to put Moses Lake up 2-0.

"Caylah scored off of a through ball by Hunter, " coach Ricardo Char said. "Kimmi Bakker score came off a nice corner kick by Cortney Radocaj."

The Chiefs out shot the Blue Devils 18-4. Heidi Palmer, the Moses Lake keeper, had two saves. Alexis Snachez had six saves for Walla Walla.

The win improves Moses Lake to 8-3 in the CBBN standings, and 10-5 overall. The Chiefs host Davis in the last game of the regular tomorrow night at Lions Field. The match gets underway at 7 p.m.
