GEORGE - The George Community Harvest Festival, designed specifically to bring community members together, will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The Harvest Festival will be held in the George Community Park Pavilion from 3-8 p.m. There will also be a community yard sale in the park from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

The community yard sale is open to anyone. The cost will $10 per space. You may call DeAnna Lavoie at 398-3989 to sign up.

There will be free barbecued hot dogs, hamburgers and salmon. Coffee, hot chocolate and apple cider will be free.

According to George Community Hall events coordinator Debby Kooy, her husband Elliot will volunteer a mechanized cider press to the cause. It produces 10 gallons per hour, and other presses are expected.

"We have two or three bins of apples donated," Kooy said. "Goldens, winter banana and galas make a real nice juice. We're asking people to bring their own (sanitized milk bottle) containers.
