Warden volleyball team beats Lake Roosevelt

WARDEN - The Warden Cougars turned back a determined Lady Raiders volleyball squad in Warden last Thursday, with a three set (25-16, 25-14, 25-21) win.
The victory runs the Cougars record to 7-2 in 2B Central Washington-South conference action, and 13-4 overall.
"It was a good win for us against a tough Lake Roosevelt team," coach Dennis Treat said. "We needed to win to set up a chance to play Kittitas on Tuesday for a shot at the league title."
The win places the Cougars in a three way tie for first place in the league standings.
Treat said the team could've have easily over looked the Raiders, as they have not been the most competitive team this year. But Warden remained focused at the task at hand.
"The girls played with enthusiasm and put themselves in a position to play for the league lead," he said. "A loss would have taken that opportunity away."
Hannah Bisnett had eight kills and four blocksĂto lead the offensive attack for Warden. Iris Rodriguez added seven kills and six aces, Keisha Urwin finished with six kills and three aces and libero Bianca Hernandez had 18 digs.
Warden is at Kittitas tonight. The match gets underway at 5 p.m.
