DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSAL: Priest Rapids Dam Turbine-Generator Building
Build a 12,500 square feet addition with a maximum height of 30 feet (approximate size) onto the east powerhouse wall at Priest Rapids Dam to store, fabricate, assemble and repair parts for the existing powerhouse and dam, including an upcoming Turbine and Generator replacement project.
A portion of this proposal involves removing a small park (approximately 1.1 acres in size) and replacing it with permanent parking. This will turn an existing lot of 69 parking spots into a lot with 126 spaces (a 57 car increase). It was noted that the park is now behind a locked gate, due to the security improvements since 9/11. This prevents the public from using the park, which had been one of the major uses, and primary reason for its existence in years past.
