CBSS drops match to Thorp

THORP - The Columbia Basin Secondary School (CBSS) traveled to Thorp last Thursday to take on the seventh ranked Tigers.

The Phoenix battled Thorp in a competitive three set match, but unfortunately were shout out 3-0 (25-16,25-12,25-15).

Crystal and Amber Lloyd combined for nine kills and eight aces to lead the way for CBSS. Madi Hansen added three aces and two assists, and Breanna Powell finished with one ace and two assists. Shelby Binn won the Sportmanship award.

"Thorp is a tough team, but the girls played hard all three games, "coach Terri Pixlee said. "They (Thorp) played smart and was able to capitalize on our errors."

The loss drops the Phoenix to 1-6 in league play and 2-5 overall. CBSS travels to Bridgeport tonight to take on the Fillies. The match is set for 5:30 p.m.
