Reader supports council member

| October 14, 2011 6:00 AM

I write this letter to the Moses Lake community to express my absolute support for Jon Lane as he seeks re-election to our city council. I have known Jon and his wife Carol since their high school days, and have always had the greatest respect for him, for his family, and for all the values he embodies.

In our republican form of government, we elect representatives with wisdom, intelligence, and integrity to represent us in making the wisest possible decisions for our community. For all his life Jon has shown these qualities in his family, in his professional life, and in all his endeavors in support of our city. Jon has worked untiringly for the betterment of your community and mine. He is an avid supporter of our recycling program; he works with the chamber of commerce to chart the needs of our city both now and in the future; he collaborates with the Port of Moses Lake, the EDC, Big Bend Community College, and the Grant County commissioners to recruit industry to Moses Lake. What has transpired here during his term in office vindicates his efforts.

In Jon Lane we have a man who demonstrates true passion for Moses Lake; a man who works with all parties to achieve consensus even in difficult issues; a man with the qualities we need to advance our community; a man whom I recommend as an ideal representative for all of us. This election is important for the future of Moses Lake, and I urge every citizen to vote in the upcoming election. For all Jon has done for this city, and for all the qualities listed above I further urge a vote for Jon Lane to continue his leadership. We cannot do better.
